Fameus is a place for artists of every level and with every ambition. Participating in the group exhibition offers the opportunity to gain experience together with other artists and to grow as a visual artist. We are happy to guide you through the entire process, including providing support with presenting your work to a jury, choosing suitable hanging systems, and bringing together an enthusiastic audience during the exhibition.
We are working together with Merksem again
The exhibition, which takes place in houses in Merksem and in Bouckenborgh Park, forms the heart of the program “Month of Visual Arts” in May 2026. We bring together local artists, creative organizations, and residents to create and reflect around themes such as nature, well-being, and calm in the city.
The group exhibition 'Morfotopia' is a collaboration between Fameus, District Merksem, Merksemdok and Middelheim Museum.
Present one work, no more than 2 years old, that fits within the theme below
Naam van de expo: Morfotopia.
Thema van de expo:
The city as a microbiotope with creatures that learn to adapt to constant change.
Welcome to a city that buzzes, collides, and thrives even in the places you least expect. Morfotopia explores how life, in all its forms, creatively learns to survive. The city becomes a microbiotope full of diverse beings: from street plants stubbornly pushing through concrete to people navigating cultures that converge in an ever-changing environment.
With this expo, we celebrate the city as a place of contradictions: noise and silence, clash and harmony, competition and cooperation. A place where everything happens at once and somehow, it all works.

For whom?
Leisure-time artists, art students, and emerging artists active in the city of Antwerp and its districts.

Curators
The exhibition is curated by the Learning Network of Fameus. A group of talented artists is organizing a group exhibition for the fourth year in a row.

Jury
After registration, you will be invited to a mandatory jury session on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Fameus, where a professional jury, together with the Lerend Netwerk, will decide whether your work will be included in the exhibition. During the jury session, you will receive valuable feedback on your work.
