Henri Lodak

Henri Lodak is a Belgian autodidact artist who began his artistic journey after a background in entrepreneurship. Driven by a need to express emotions that could not be captured in words, he turned to visual art as his primary language. His work balances intuition and structure, often combining organic forms with symbolic and mathematical elements. Although he only recently started exhibiting his work publicly, he has already presented his work in the exhibition "Alles van waarde is weerloos" (Karmelietenklooster, Ghent). Lodak continues to explore perception, imperfection and human identity through his evolving practice.

Love on the street

Print

This work started from an accidental paint spill on the street, something normally seen as a mistake that should be removed or ignored. By observing it instead of erasing it, the work became a reflection on how we deal with imperfection and coincidence. Children noticed it immediately, while adults first hesitated. Through a short poetic text, the piece explores how meaning can emerge from what we usually overlook. The work invites the viewer to reconsider what is considered valuable, and suggests that sometimes simply noticing something, even briefly, is already enough.
