Ximena Garcia
Ximena Garcia is a multidisciplinary artist based in Belgium whose work explores storytelling through visual language. Inspired by cities, personal memories, and everyday objects, she transforms narratives into graphic compositions that balance simplicity and emotion.
Her practice moves between illustration, design, and conceptual pieces, often incorporating maps, symbols, and handcrafted elements.
Garcia is particularly interested in how places shape identity, translating these connections into poetic visual forms. Through her work, she invites viewers to reflect on their own stories and the spaces they inhabit, turning ordinary experiences into meaningful artistic expressions.
Antwerpen Symbiose
This work presents Antwerp as a living microbiotope, where diverse forms of life continuously adapt and coexist. Using insects as metaphors, it reflects the social and cultural dynamics that shape the city. Each insect embodies a specific aspect of urban life, from labor and movement to care, exchange, and memory. Inspired by different neighborhoods, the composition creates a visual language that connects organic systems with urban structures. Through this perspective, the work reveals the hidden networks that sustain the city, inviting viewers to reconsider Antwerp as a shared ecosystem defined by both diversity and interdependence.
