Mara Balode

Mara Balode is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in Art Jewellery. Originally from Riga Latvia, she obtained a BA degree from Glasgow School of Art (Scotland) and MA in Jewellery Design and Silversmithing from Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. While reflecting on her own personal experience she is portraying the beauty of day to day life. Sometimes it is a hard feeling, another time a joyful moment or a completely new world she is creating. Juggling between digital and manual drawing, painting and printmaking she is bringing to life visually striking works with bold colours and compositions.
